PLN Video Games
While listening to the presentations in English class, the one that I found to be the most interesting was Anthony Logan's which was about video games and the effects. He talked about when people play violent games, they tend to become for violent themselves. I never would have believed this, however, I can relate. I was playing Call of Duty and I got angry and punched a chair and almost broke my hand. After my incident, I realized I needed to cut back on video games and learn to control my anger because I do not want a video game making me an aggressive person. The main thing that shocked me in Anthony's presentation was the poll he did. The majority of the people who did the poll either played video games every chance they could get, or every other day. He had said that a year ago, the poll would be the exact opposite. There have been many new violent games that have been introduced lately which shows that more and more people are playing and eventually, the violent games change their personalities. All together, the main idea is to cut back on video games, they make us aggressive and we need to learn not to use what we see in a video game in real life.

Fiction or Non-Fiction
I've read many more articles about aliens and UFO's and the more I read, the more I'm convinced they're real. I have read over 50 short articles about sightings of UFO's and more articles about people having strange "dreams" involving themselves being paralyzed and getting operated on. I don't know how to explain that circumstance other than abduction. The only way to prove these scary creatures are real is to get a real picture of an actual alien. Hopefully, an article will come my way with a picture of an actual alien sealing the deal and proving that aliens are real.

Topic PLN
The topic that I have been researching in my independent reading has been about aliens and UFO's. The main argument is whether aliens are real or not. I have read several articles on the computer about people having strange dreams and getting parlyzed in those dreams. The question is was it a dream? People who say aliens don't exist are very closed minded in my opinion because to think we are the only life forms in the whole universe is just completely improbable. I would like to look more into my subject and find more arguments and dreams people have had to show how just maybe, we aren't the only life forms in the universe.

In Richard Connell's The Most Dangerous Game, I felt that he wanted the reader to be cautionary about hunting because he showed that when you overdo something, it can become something horrible. He thought hunting was morally okay, but when you take it too far, it can be a disaster, "Hunting? Great Guns, General Zaroff, what you speak of is murder. It turns to something way worst than hunting, it turns to murder. General Zaroff overdid hunting and he made it more into a game than a sport. He would make people try and survive but if they were found, they were killed, "A rather good lot, I think." "The Hunt" was used more often than hunting because I believe that General Zaroff thought that everything in general was one big hunt, "My real interest was always the hunt." I don't think that Connell's tone was not to hunt, just to always give yourself guidelines and not to turn into some murderer. The general was studying him immensely, "Whenever he looked up from his plate, he found the general studying him, appraising him narrowly". The general was planning to take his skill to the test against another skillful hunter. He was studying him and seeing what properties he had as a good competitor against General Zaroff.

In my book, "The Drawing of the Three" by Stephen King, one character stands out above all the rest. The character in this book is the gunslinger. Somehow, he has walked through a door into another person's mind. He can partially control what the person does. Referring back to my previous post, I can really relate to that. Some days, the decisions I make, or the way I feel just doesn't feel like me. Those are bad days because sometimes the decisions I make when I'm not "myself" can impact me in a negative manor. The gunslinger in this story has tremendously helped out the person who's mind he has in partial control. Eddie (or the guy who has the gunslinger in his mind) is involved with a drug deal and the gunslinger helps him get out of it. I don't yet know if the gunslinger is a good or bad person, all I know is that he helped a person in need and to me that's a good person.

PlN entry
I can relate to the book "The Drawing of the Three " by Stephen King in a real life situation. There have been times where I feel like someone has actually stepped into my mind because when I make decisions, they don't feel like my own. This book has challenged me to a far extent. When I read this book, it is harder to understand but I am also making many connections. I'm glad I picked this book to read because I would like to challenge myself in the future and read books like "The Drawing of the Three" because this book has really helped me take my thinking to the next level and no longer be confined to think inside the box.
